Sudan will participate in the 18th session of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) to be held in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa next Monday and Tuesday with a delegation headed by the First Vice President, Bakri Hassan Salih
Statements issued by Sudan’s Ministry of Commerce on Friday said that the Summit will discuss the developments in the security issues and the important files, including the conflicts in the COMESA region in the light of the relevant reports and recommendations issued recently by the African Union.
the statements added that Summit also would discuss ways to combat terrorism and adoption of a comprehensive approach to deal with all terrorist organizations that threaten the stability of the region, as well as to discuss developments in infrastructure development including the down-line the river between Lake Victoria and the Mediterranean which is co-sponsored by Egypt
The meetings will deal with a number of technical trade issues, as well as the various programmes being implemented by the "COMESA such as the trade for peace and COMESA relations developments with other external parties, and negotiations on the partnership between the European Union and the territory of East and southern Africa, and trade and economic ties with India, and other projects
