The Texas-based Schlumberger Oilfield Holdings Ltd. (SOHL) will be paying the US government USD 232.7 million as part of a plea deal "for conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) by willfully facilitating illegal transactions and engaging in trade with Iran and Sudan," the Department of Justice (DoJ) said.
The company has been under investigation since 2009, the DoJ revealed in a statement.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, SOHL must "submit to a three-year period of corporate probation and agree to continue to cooperate with the government and not commit any additional felony violations of US federal law," the statement said
