The Chairman of the Sudanese National Elections Commission (NEC), Prof. Mukhtar al-Asam, stressed that his commission will prove to the world that the general elections scheduled to take place in next April will be free and fair and not rigged as promoted by some parties
During a meeting with the ######### of the Supreme Electoral commissions in all states on Sunday, al-Asam said that they will respond practically through free and fair elections for those trying to spreading defeatist by fabricating videos about election fraud
He warned of the errors, saying that his commission would not accept any error during the.
For its part, the police confirmed completion of all arrangements of its members and committees and logistics to ensure the process in all states.
Police spokesman Maj. Gen. Ahmad Omar, said that the police has nothing to do with administrative and substantive work and will be found inside the polling stations.
The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has said 15 candidates will stand for the presidency, but most apart from Bashir have little traction with the public.
The NEC says that 13,600,000 people out of a population of around 35 million have registered to vote, although it is unclear what percentage of eligible Sudanese this constitutes since there has not been a census in the country since 2008.
Most of the mainstream opposition parties have announced they will boycott the elections.
