The head of Darfur’s National Liberation and Justice Movement (NLJM) Tijani al-Sissi, stressed that party will participate in the general elections scheduled for April 19, pointing out that his party faced difficulties especially related to the security arrangements for the fighters of the movement
Al-Sissi told Sudan News Agency (SUNA) on Sunday that his party has ambitious program called "the Renaissance of Sudan” which is an integrated programme contains various economic, development and social service, adding that the program will be forwarded for Sudanese people through the launching of the information campaigns
He added that his party will run in 19 national constituencies and 42 State constituencies.
The LJM, which signed the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) on 14 July 2011, is now split into two political parties the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) led by Bhar Idriss Abu Garda and the National Liberation and Justice Movement (NLJM) led by Tijani al-Sissi.
The two factions disarmed and demobilized their former combatants who are now in different military camps of the Sudanese army across Darfur region. Many of them are now integrated in the Sudanese army and police but others are not yet part of the regular forces.
