The Sudanese journalist Siraj Al-Naeem, works at Al-Dar newspaper has disappeared in mysterious circumstances since last day Friday from his home and family.
Sudan’s Journalists ' Union expressed its serious concern about disappearance of the journalist , noting that it had contacts with the police authorities to find out the fate of Al-Naeem, who came out of his house around 11 a.m. on Friday, according to his wife.
Sudan is one of the most challenging media environments in the world. Detentions, financial punishments and harassment are common place as President Omar al-Bashir tries to keep a tight rein on the press.
