The World Food Programme (WFP) has welcomed the support of the Government of Finland for its operations in Sudan with $ 3.46 million dollars to help 330, 360 of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees in camps in Darfur and Kassala in eastern Sudan.
Finnish Ambassador to Sudan said that his government is committed to the work of WFP, pointing out that the dangerous and unprecedented humanitarian situation led to increasing assistance to an unprecedented degree in Sudan
WFP said in statement on Sunday that Finland provided $ 1.36 million in 2014 to support the emergency operations of the world food programme in Sudan, and made an additional contribution of $ 3.46 million.
WFP Sudan Country Director, Adnan Khan, thanked Government of Finland for its early support which enables the programme to continue its activities as planned
