Unknown attackers were foiled in an attempt to blow up the Sudanese Embassy in the Libyan capital of Tripoli to Tuesday after they fired grenade but it didn’t explode on time, and commission of inquiry immediately to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
Al-Shirouq T.V quoted Libyan diplomatic sources saying that Sudanese Embassy in Tripoli was targeted with home made T.MT bomb in the early hours of Tuesday, adding that the bomb was fitted with a remote control
The sources pointed out that two unknown attackers threw the grenade over one of the walls of the Embassy, adding that it did not explode on time due to separating of its parts, indicating that the bomb was dismantled by the Department of the Explosives in Libyan Interior Ministry, adding that a Committee was formed immediately to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident in coordination with the competent Libyan authorities.
The spokesman of Sudan’s Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Kordofani, stressed that Sudanese Embassy now is functioning duties normally after defusing the bomb, noting that the incident comes in the midst of the political and security unrest in Libya.
