Feb 02, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-European Union (EU) has expressed its concern at the difficulties facing the national dialogue process in Sudan, especially after two oppsosion parties suspended their participation in the political process and direction of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) to ban the activities of the main opposition National Umma Party (NUP).
The Head of the EU Mission in Sudan, Thomas Ulicny said in statement on Sunday that his mission following with concern the difficulties faced by the national dialogue process, calling for the national dialogue to be more inclusive and transparent
Ulicny pointed out that EU will continue to closely coordinate and support the efforts of African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP), headed by Thabo Mbeki, to bring all Sudanese parties around the table in order to reach a peace agreement.
After his meeting with the assistant of Sudanese president, Jalal Yousif Al-Dikeir, EU official stressed that the EU will continue to Sudanese people
The European Union announced its support for the process of political dialogue in the Sudan within the framework of its support for the peace process and political stability in the country.
Ulicny stressed the importance of the commitment of all parties to move forward on the implementation of the Darfur peace agreement to convince more groups to join the peace process, adding that that support and international assistance based on improving security and stability in Darfur
