Title: Sudan and Ethiopia stress cooperation to mange water resources

Jan 06, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline- The Sudanese-Ethiopian Technical Advisory Committee of Water Resources stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries through continued constructive engagement and exchange of data and information for managing water resources in both countries.
In the joint press statement issued at the end of the two-day meetings of the Committee in Khartoum on Monday, the ministers of water resources of the two countries announced their full readiness for cooperation to manage cross-border water resources
According to Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) the statement said that the two Ministers agreed to hold the next meeting of the Committee in August in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. They also agreed to establish a mechanism to follow up the implementation of planned activities and agreed upon during the meeting
The Committee was established in 1991 and the first meeting held in mid-1992, and the Committee was reactivated in 2013 with enhancing its missions for cooperation in the management of shared water resources between Ethiopia and Sudan.
