December 23, 2014-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline South African President Jacob Zuma urged warring factions in South Sudan to halt hostilities and allow the peace mediation processes to unfold unhindered.

Zuma made the call after his meeting with his Ugandan counterpart, Uganda's veteran President Yoweri Museveni in Entebbe on Monday.

In an interview with the SABC, President Zuma said cessation of hostilities is key in restoring lasting peace and security in South Sudan.

“Conflict delays progress and development, it also affect innocent people. We are pleading with the parties that we need to be ready to compromise for the sake of the people of South Sudan,” adds Zuma.
