Sudan says obstacles about construction of Ethiopian Dam is overcome

In statements to Al-Shirouq T.V satellite on Sunday, Sir Al-Khatim stated that thanks to the wisdom of the political leadership in all three countries, Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia, and efforts of the ministers concerned, obstacles have been overcome.
“After the technical committees completed their reports and submitted them to the minister and the tree governments, the reality confirms that everyone is now on the threshold of the implementation phase” he added
Sudanese diplomat noted that the discussion of the tripartite technical Committee is underway on how to implement the recommendations that would achieve the next phase for the real work to complete the dam, pointing out that the Ethiopians had announced that the implementation phases in the construction of the dam had reached 40%, saying that Sudan will benefit from this energy in development projects and other interests in stability of the water level
Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan agreed to conduct studies on the effects of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) under a six-month deadline, after two days of “honest consultations” in Sudan last August.
The talks were headed by the water ministers of the three countries, who agreed to use one or more international consulting companies to conduct the two studies, recommended in an international report. Egypt’s Water and Irrigation Minister Hossam El-Din Moghazy was cited by state-run MENA as saying Egypt’s acceptance of the dam depends on the results of the studies and that the results are binding to all parties.
