Sudan election commission announces completion of electoral registration stage

Khartoum-The National Elections Commission in Sudan announced, on Monday, completion of the electoral registration stage and the division of the geographical constituencies for the general elections, scheduled to take place in April 2015.
The NEC has revealed that Halayeb area in the northern part of the country comprises 35 election centers.
Head of the NEC Mukhtar Al-Asam has told a press conference that the number of the registered people has exceeded 13 million.
He stated that the NEC has turned down a request by some parties to extend the registration period because it will affect the order of the elections timetable.
He further announced opening of the objections period before the judiciary against the NEC decisions in terms of the division of geographical constituencies before the judiciary.
