NORTH DARFUR

(

21 Aug

.) -

The Liberation Movement for Justice faction led by Taher Hajar (LJM-TH), has called on relatives of three government troops captured in North Darfur, to contact the movement for their release.

“During battles with government forces in North Darfur earlier this year, LJM-TH combatants captured soldiers Khalifa Kumi Monda, Bakhit Ishag Adam, and Mohamed Ahmed Ishag,” the movement’s Secretary of Humanitarian Affairs, Abu Bakr Ahmed Suleiman, reported to Radio Dabanga.

“We cannot contact the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) anymore, after theandnbsp;organisation was expelled from Sudan last February. Therefore, we request from the captives’ families to contact us, or come to the areas where we are stationed, and pick up their relatives.”

In cooperation with the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Minni Minawi, LJM combatants launched several attacks at army garrisons in Darfur in the end of last year and early 2014.
