Khartoum-The Ministry of Finance has admitted that the measures taken to raise the value of the Sudanese pounds against the dollars did not work, saying that they only contributed in making the exchange rate stable in the past period.
The ministry of finance has expected a significant decreasing in the dollar prices against the Sudanese pound in the coming days due to the measures made by the ministry to control the price of dollars in the past period.
The ministry has revealed efforts to increase production via early preparations for the summer agricultural season.
In the meantime, the state minister for finance Abdelrahman Dirar has strongly defended the policies of his ministry to confront the rise in the dollars prices.
In press statements upon a meeting with deputy chairperson of the Parliament Samia Ahmed Mohamed on Monday, Dirar expected gradual decreasing in the prices of dollars. He denied any trend to lift oil subsidies.
