THE REBELS ARE CLEARED OUT OF NASIR TOWN

I want to inform the media and the people of South Sudan that the rebel-terrorists of Riek Machar violated the Ceasefire Agreement signed in Addis Ababa and attacked Nasir town. The rebels started shelling Nasir at around 9:00 PM on Saturday. At 5 AM on Sunday, they launched a ground assault in two directions. The rebels who attacked the SPLA Headquarters at Torjuoch were completely wiped out. The SPLA forces managed to kill 750 of them.

The group that attacked the Airport and Commissioner's office resisted for hours. However, the SPLA forces defeated them at 12:30 PM. At the Airport, around 230 rebels were found dead.

The Government of South Sudan strongly condemns renegade Garhoth Gatkuoth and Duer Tut Duir for mobilizing kids to fight the government. Right now, over 1200 Jikany youth died today in Nasir town for nothing. Jikany community must condemn Riek Machar for killing their kids.
