Red light runners face jail and fine

Khartoum-Ombada traffic court has sentenced 8 persons to prison for 7 days and to a fine of 150 pounds for crossing the red light.
According to the Citizen, the traffic general administration is currently intensifying crackdown on red light runners and bring them to court in accordance with article 31 of the state traffic law for 2008, and article 61 of the federal traffic law for 2010. The traffic general administration urged owners of vehicles to commit to the traffic rules for preserving lives and properties.
