Umma and Communist Parties call for releasing detainees

Khartoum-The national Umma Party and the communist party have called for the immediate and unconditional release of chairman of the Umma party and imam of Ansar sect Al-Sadeq Al-Mahdi and other political detainees.

The two parties have agreed to make full coordination and work toward seizing the rights and freedoms as mentioned in the 2005 interim constitution. According to a joint communiqué issued upon a meeting in Umma Party premises on Monday, the two parties discussed the current political situation in Sudan, the developments of political situations, the security threats, the deterioration of the livening and economic conditions, the decline in the public freedoms and the arrest of politicians.

The two parties agreed to continue dialogue on the homeland issue through the joint mechanism.
