Khartoum-Deputies of the Parliament have criticized a recommendation to establish a higher council of Haj and Umra as an additional burden on the state’s resources and escape from the principle of finance ministry jurisdiction over the public fund. The deputies have further criticized the annual performance of Haj by the constitutional post holders.

On his part, the minister of Guidance and Endowments Al-Fateh Taj al-Sir has described as necessary the establishment of a higher council for Haj and Umra.

Speaking to the parliament on Monday, the minister said” we coordinate with 36 bodies; therefore, presence of independent body is a must”.

The Parliament has meanwhile underscored tabling the Haj and Umra law to establish a higher council for Haj and Umra. The minister has affirmed that the measures of the Haj this year will be better than the previous year, saying that there will be no increasing in the cost of Haj this year.
