British Court sentences two JEM members to two years in prison

Khartoum-A UK court has sentenced two members of Justice and Equality Movement to two years in prison after they were convicted in assaulting a Sudanese community celebration of Independence in 2012.

Whilst the Justice and Equality Movement has not commented on the verdict, lawyers said that the court verdict was based on investigations, police reports, testimonies of witnesses and evidence in the detective minutes and surveillance cameras.

The court has sentenced Faisal Hassan Ismail, the deputy official of Birmingham office and member of the executive office of Justice and Equality Movement in Britain to two years in prison, and Abdelkarim Khareef, the member in Minawi movement, to two years in prison, and acquitted a third defendant from Abdel-Wahid Nour movement.

It is to be recalled that supporters of Darfur rebel movements in Britain had attacked a Sudanese community celebration in Birmingham city with machetes and knives upon the killing of head of the Justice and Equality Movement Khalil Ibrahim in Sudan.
