khartoum-The commander of the Rapid Support Forces Major General Abas Abdel-Aziz has said that his forces have implemented instructions by the chief of the Sudanese Security and Intelligence Service to deploy three Brigades around the capital.

Speaking to the Citizen, Major-General Abdel-Aziz said that the move is normal and precautionary, denying, at the same time, any security threats on Khartoum state. He added “the security situation is stable and under control”

The commander of the Rapid Support Forces has denied news on some websites that some violations have been committed in peripheral villages around Khartoum, and warned against the consequences of circulating these rumors.

The field commander of the Rapid Support Forces Brigadier Mohamed Hamdan Himadti has said that he is now in Darfur region to maintain the prestige of the state, defeat the rebellion and protect the villages and unarmed people from the attacks of the Darfur movements.

Speaking to the Citizen by phone, he said that the situations in Darfur are calm and under control.

He added” we engaged in battles with remnants of Sudan Liberation Movement-Abdel-Wahid Nour faction. We have inflicted heavy casualties on them. They have sealed from the strategic locations in Jebel Marra”.

He cited that Nour movement does not represent security threat in Darfur anymore, adding that the movement of Nour has divided into small and weak groups that will be defeated soon.

Concerning deployment of three military Brigades around Khartoum, the commander said that the measure came in accordance with the instructions, adding that “but I am now leading the operations within my forces in Darfur states”.

In the meantime, Al-Fashir city, the capital of North Darfur state, witnessed on Tuesday armed clashes. A military source told the Citizen in state of anonymity that a joint team from regular forces raided into a house yesterday after receiving information that five unlawful armed persons are present in the house. He added” the force arrested three armed persons while two were able to flee”

The Sudanese security and intelligence service denied, on Monday, news about a failed coup attempt.
