Two members of the Sudanese Ba'ath Party were arrested in Khartoum on Tuesday.

“Security forces detained Ba'ath Party members, Sabri Mohamed and Balla Ahmed, in the Kalakla district in the southern part of Khartoum today,” the party announced onandnbsp;Tuesday. “The party members were publicly calling for a stoppage of the wars, and expressing the oppositions's refusal of the format of national dialogue as proposed by the Sudanese ruling party.”

Late on Monday night two other Ba'ath Party members were released from the Haj Yousif police station in Khartoum North. The banners they were carrying at the Haj Yousif market were confiscated.

The Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party of Sudan on Sunday began a public campaign against the armed conflicts in the country. Party members visit public places, put forth the party’s opinion, “consistent with the opposition forces alliance”, and distribute leaflets in Greater-Khartoum.andnbsp;They call for the abolition of restrictive laws, and the government’s full approval of a transitional period during which the national dialogue can take place.

Four Ba’ath Party leaders were arrested in Omdurman on Sunday when they were addressing citizens in front of a large hospital about the crises in the country.andnbsp;

President Omar Al Bashir on 9 April issued a decree allowing political parties to hold public meetings and make use of the various media.
