Khartoum-The Government has notified the African Union High African mechanism, chaired by Thabo Mbeki, the former President of South Africa and the mediator of the talks between the government and the SPLM-North, that the resumption of the talks has been delayed. The government has meanwhile has announced readiness for the six round of talks in Addis Ababa if notified.



Upon a meeting with the Abdol Mohamed, member of the African high-level mechanism Secretariat, Abdol Mohamed at the Republic Palace on Tuesday, the Assistant to the President and chairman of the government delegation to the talks on the two areas Ibrahim Ghandour has said that he notified the member of the secretariat that the start of talks is delayed.

He said that the government is ready for the negotiation talks but the delay in setting the date for the start of the talks for more than three weeks has made the time factor very pressing, especially the African Union peace and Security Council has set the 30th of current April as a date to reach an agreement, affirming readiness to the expected round of talks and commitment to realize peace.

On his part, the chairman of the information committee at the national consensus forces Sideq Yousif has said in a press conference on Tuesday that they agreed with the negotiation paper presented by the SPLM-North in the fifth round of talks. He said that they agreed with the SPLM-north view that the solution of the issue of the two areas alone will not solve the crises of Sudan.
