The Sudanese government has allocated an area of 100,000 acres in northern Sudan for cultivation by Bahrain.

The Sudanese Minister of Investment, Mustafa Osman Ismail, said in a press conference today that "the coming days will witness the signing of an agreement between Bahrain and the National Authority for Investment in Sudan”.

During a meeting today, the Bahraini Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Sheikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Sudanese Investment Minister discussed the economic relations between the two countries, and “ways of enhancing them”.

Ismail presented to the Bahraini delegation a range of investment opportunities in Sudan, in particular in the agricultural sector, calling on the Arab investors to invest in Sudan, because of its huge resources.

Sheikh Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the Government of Sudan to improve the investment conditions in the country, and expressed Bahrain’s desire to invest in Sudan, especially in food security projects.
