WHAT: Mission to Sudan

WHEN: 15 to 19 March 2014

WHERE: Khartoum, Sudan

The Inter-agency Standing Committee (IASC) Emergency Directors Group (EDG) will visit Sudan from 15 to 19 March 2014. The mission aims to build a shared understanding of the operational challenges faced by humanitarian partners in Sudan and to consider ways of mobilizing increased financial and operational support for the humanitarian response in Sudan.

During the mission, the Emergency Directors Group (EDG) will be meeting with Government representatives, operational humanitarian partners, and donors in Khartoum. A field visit to South Darfur will ensure that mission recommendations are fully grounded in field realities. The Emergency Directors will also meet bilaterally with their agency counterparts.
