Sudan affirms full control over oil production areas in Kordofan

Khartoum-The Sudanese armed forces have announced full control over the oil production areas in South Kordofan, and denied any security threats by the armed movements, which threatened to launch attacks on oil fields in South Kordofan.

The spokesman of the armed forces Colonel Al-Sawarmy Khalid Sa’ad has said in a press statement to Al-Tagyeer newspaper that there are no threats against the oil production areas, and that the army is protecting and securing these areas. Je further said that the rebels do not dare to reach the army deployment areas.


In the same context, Sudanese sources at ministry of oil said that the total production of oil in areas of Baleela and Hejlij ranges between 130 to 150 thousand barrels.
