This is an open event organised by Voice for Nyala, in support of Italians for Darfur
Book launch of ‘Darfur, the Colours of Hope’, written by the Italians for Darfur’ President, Antonella Napoli, with a foreword by Mukesh Kapila. A panel of top experts will discuss the Darfur genocide ten years since it began, and when mass killings are still occurring. The discussion will feature different perspectives from a senior conflict zones journalist, a pressure group coordinator in the UK Parliament, a leading journalist and human rights activist for Darfur in Italy, and the former head of the UN in Sudan, who revealed to the world the genocide in Darfur.
Mukesh Kapila, Special Representative of the Aegis Trust for the prevention of crimes against humanity, was the head of the United Nations in Sudan in 2003-2004. He reveals in his book ‘Against a Tide of Evil’ the shocking depths of evil plumbed by those who designed and orchestrated 'the final solution in Darfur' and why so many good men stood by and did nothing.
Chris Milner coordinates the activities of the Associate Parliamentary Group on Sudan and South Sudan in the UK Parliament.
Antonella Napoli is a senior Italian journalist, President of Italians for Darfur, co-founder of Sudan 365 International campaign, and columnist / blogger on the Huffington Post.
The panel is chaired by Simon Haselock, co-founder and Director of Albany Associates and a pioneer in media intervention in countries emerging from violent conflict.
Signed copies of ‘Darfur, the Colours of Hope’ and of ‘Against a Tide of Evil’ will be available at the event.
