Sudanese Defense Minister to visit Cairo on Tuesday

kHARTOUM-The Sudanese Minister of Defense is due to pay a two-day official visit to Egypt on Tuesday. Reliable sources told Al-Ray Al-Am newspaper that the minister of Defense will meet with his Egyptian counterpart Field Marshal Abdel-Fatah al-Sissi to discuss a number of issues of mutual concern.
The sources suggested that the issues of borders, gold miners and smuggling across the borders will top the files of the meeting.
In the meantime, arrangements are underway for a visit by the Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Karti to Cairo early next week.
The newspaper said that the visit of Karti to Cairo comes at the request of Sudan, and as a reply to an earlier visit by the Egyptian foreign minister Nabil Fahmi to Sudan.
According to the newspaper, the foreign ministers of both countries are expected to discuss several issues pertinent to the joint ministerial committee, especially the four freedoms, the land roads, water Nile file and other issues of mutual concern.
