Khartoum-The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said it is working on drafting an appropriate response to the statement of the official spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry that Halayeb is an Egyptian area by 100%.
The Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry ambassador Rahamtallah Mohamed Osman told al-Tagyeer newspaper in Khartoum on Wednesday that “we are still studying the statement itself and its source, and we will issue the appropriate reply in the appropriate time”.
Ambassador Rahamtallah stated that the concerned department in his ministry is assigned to investigate into what was reported on the Egyptian media on this issue, saying the reply will be made after a thorough study.
The spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry ambassador Badr Abdelati has said that Halayeb and Shalatain are Egyptian territories and there is no room for argument with Sudan on that, adding that Egypt will not accept any compromise with Sudan on this dispute.
