US diplomat: Washington does not support anti -Sudan armed rebels

Khartoum-The US chargé d'affaires to Khartoum, Joseph D. Stafford, has denied any support by his country to any armed operations against Sudan, affirming that the US has urged the opposing Revolutionary Front during meetings in Washington to convert from the military action to the civilian political activity.

According to Al-ray-Am newspaper Friday’s edition in Khartoum, the US official described, in a sitting at the Sudanese Parliament on the recent movements of the Revolutionary Front in the US that what has been circulated that Washington is supporting the Revolutionary Front with arms, as unfounded allegations.

He further called on Khartoum government to facilitate the mission of the US envoy to Sudan, saying that it comes as part of the peace endeavors.

The head of the Foreign Relations Committee at the Parliament, Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Amin, has said that the Parliament has promised to consider the request of the US charge d affaires on the US envoy, in coordination with the Sudanese foreign ministry.
