Egypt and South Sudan discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between the two countries
Cairo-Egyptian Foreign Minister, Nabil Fahmi, received on Wednesday South Sudan's ambassador to Cairo, where they discussed ways of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan, Juba's government support to the current developments in Egypt since the June 30 revolution, in addition to returning of Egypt to the African Union (AU)
The spokesman of the Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Fahmi stressed during the meeting the importance of the relations between Juba and Cairo and Egypt's interest in strengthening political dialogue between the two countries on various African issues of common concern, including file of the Nile waters.
The spokesman added that Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed Egypt's commitment to continue its support to the South Sudan in several areas, particularly health, education, scholarships for South Sudanese students to study in Egyptian universities
The spokesman said that Fahmi told the Ambassador of South Sudan Egypt's welcome on the progress towards resolving the outstanding issues between Sudan and South Sudan.
