Nehru revisited in Khartoum

In Philadelphia Daily News, March, 1933 a cartoonist remarked the American president Hoover departed leaving his slogans to the trashcan .well! Since 1933, 74 years have elapsed. There are still plenty of signatures and mottos to add to the debris of un-realized promises .They will inevitably meet the same fate of those litters that glowed for moments in 1933 incinerator. From the words carnage two words survived legibly: freedom and independence. Off course you hear these two honeyed words in the developing world and countries of Arab spring. What do you know about freedom and independence? The occasion of raising this question was the visit of the foreign minister of India, Mr. Salamn Khorsehide at the inception of February.
The visit of his Excellency flooded me with lots of memories. Mr. Salman Khorshied came to the bank of Nile from the bank of Gange River. on a boat in this river, the British journalist once wrote of Indians” ….They retain some of the beauty with which they were born.”
The ambience of charming diplomatic reception evoked the memory of Nehru, the founding father of India and the president of Indian National Congress. Thanks to Nehru, India could maintain it’s stability, ethnic and territorial integrity. What do you about freedom and independence? In Bandung, in 1954, Nehru asked the delegates of nonaligned nations (those countries which neither supported capitalists nor propped up communists in the world power struggle).
He answered: It isn’t the withdrawal of colonial garrisons, presidential guards, cars, planes or signing on papers.
Taban Loliyong, a South Sudanese writer in his column entitled “How long must we be children “published in 1972 wrote “we got pour independence prematurely .We didn’t know what to do with it. We got it to chop off the ######### of opponents and detain at will the people whose smells we don’t like”. 52 years since Mr. Taban expressed the fact that we are manipulated rather than being informed or served.
How many Africans leave their countries to plunge into the oceans? How many are saved by Italian police and others who become preys of sharks?
