The recent visit of President Al Bashir to The Emirates and Saudi Arabia signifies a major shift in the Sudanese external affair policies. I am certain to say that all signs refer to the crystal clear fact that Sudan now is within the favored American Middle East group, which includes Saudi Arabia, The Emirates, and Jordan. What this group wants from Sudan is their men (army) to fight for them, specially in Yemen. The whole ordeal was initiated by UAE to bring wavering of some American economic boycott of Al Bashir's government, which is the lucrative bait for a faltering Sudanese government to swallow.
The unprecedented dialogue in the Sudanese media, about having diplomatic relations with Israel, is meant to create a softening atmosphere to prepare the Sudanese audience to accept this major shift when it occurs very recently. It is just a matter of time till we see an Israeli embassy in the Suba area, neighboring the American Embassy.

The whole scenario came in the right moment for the regime, when it was faced by the worst economic and political crises during its reigning time. To grab the chance is of no surprise to a regime that is used to flourish on the crumbs of meager handouts from the Gulf States. Now Sudan is ready to fight against its former ally, Iran, in order to get the necessary cash for the regime to survive. However, supporting the American camp is not a new issue for the Muslim Brotherhood movement, which had done it during the era of the cold war. Now, the situation is different, while the visible American logo is to fight the radical Islam, but indeed, the real intention is to stand against any Islamic movement, even if it does not condone violence, like the recent Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt.
This is definitely will carry a major contradiction for the Sudanese regime, but the lucrative pay which is vital for its survival, is much important than to support an Islamic cause. The National Congress had already washed its hands from the Islamic movement, therefore to distance itself even more further is of no surprise.
