Re: Saudi Arabia: A lonely Tweeter.... (Re: إبراهيم عبد العزيز عثمان)

The recent visit of King Suleiman to Egypt, proved the ultimate truth that the decision-making process in the Kingdom comes from abroad. Egypt refused to participate in the war in Yemen while its top brass generals expressed anti Saudi remarks publicly on their national media venues. In spite all of this hoopla, the Saudi monarch participated in signing seventeen vital economic agreements, with the solid promise to build a bridge over the Red Sea to strengthen the Egyptian Saudi links and to facilitate the movements of the Egyptian workers to the Kingdom. While on the other hand, Sudan is one of the first participants in the Yemeni war, comes with only promises to build some dams over the Nile without a clear mandate to tie the Saudis into bounding themselves into real agreements with our leaders who are more than happy to win some (Kabsa) crumbs from the Saudis. Given the Saudis historic political past, I doubt it very much that they will engage in fulfilling their promises with Sudan. Moreover, as soon as they sign peaceful agreements with the Hoothis and President Salih's forces, the Saudis are no longer under security pressure and they would come again to play their usual tactics with weaker countries like Sudan, Somalia, and Djibouti. Just throw to their leaders some few financial rewards without bonding themselves into financing real public projects that would support the economic bases of these countries. Sudan fights and Sudanese die, while the Egyptians stood away. However, at the end of the play, the Egyptians collect the pay....!!!
