Khartoum-Sudan has announced it welcome the Russian initiative aimed at put the Syrian chemical weapons under the international supervision, considering it as a way to defuse the military confrontation in the region, calling for political and peaceful solutions to end the crisis
Sudan's Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued on Tuesday, called on all parties involved in the crisis and the international community to provide an opportunity for the Russian initiative.
The statement reiterated Sudan's position on Syrian crisis which stresses the need to make every effort to achieve a peaceful settlement that stops fighting and blood and achieves brotherly Syrian people's legitimate aspirations of social justice, democracy and development, and avoid Syria dangers of the foreign interventions.
The statement rejected any military aggression against Syria, under any pretext or justification, urging all parties to defuse the military confrontation in the region which would have disastrous consequences for international security and stability.
