I am deeply concerned that you have invited Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to your country. Wanted for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, Bashir should be sitting before a judge, not welcomed by your government.
As a member of the International Criminal Court, Chad has a legal obligation to arrest Bashir. Welcoming Bashir not only sends the wrong message to the Sudanese people including 280,000 Sudanese refugees living in Chad but to perpetrators around the world.
For the victims of Darfur and for those under attack right now in Sudan, I urge you to uphold international justice and arrest Bashir or at the least, revoke his invitation to your country.

Breaking: Bashir to travel to Chad

After we heard that Sudanese President and wanted war criminal Omar al-Bashir, was planning to travel to Chad for the Greenbelt Conference next Monday, we were outraged. As a member state of the International Criminal Court, Chad has a legal obligation to arrest Bashir, but this is not the first time Chad has failed to fulfill their obligation; if Bashir follows through with this trip, it will be the fourth time Bashir has been welcomed to Chad since a warrant for his arrest was issued by the International Criminal Court.
Welcoming President Bashir not only sends the wrong message to the Sudanese people – including the 280,000 Sudanese refugees living in Chad – but to perpetrators around the world. Providing President Bashir with safe haven only serves to embolden his regime that continues to bomb civilian areas and cut off humanitarian aid to those in dire need.
But we’re not sitting idly by. Yesterday, I was joined by leaders from Amnesty International, Enough Project, International Justice Project and Physicians for Human Rights taking this message directly to Chad’s Ambassador to the United States, Maitine Djoumbe. Though the meeting was respectful, it was clear that more pressure is needed if we are to make a difference.
That’s where you come in. Join us in Washington DC in demanding that the Government of Chad immediately rescind Bashir’s invitation or announce their intention to arrest him.

Next week’s
visit would be the fourth since the ICC arrest warrants for Bashir were released, giving Chadthe dubious distinction of being the ICC state party that has welcomed Bashir more than any other sincethe issuance of the arrest warrant against him, and the only one to do so twice within the span of just over a month.

On Monday, the government of Chad is posed to welcome Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir into their country for the fourth time since a warrant was issued for his arrest by the International Criminal Court. Wanted for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity for the Darfur genocide Bashir should be sitting before a judge, not a dinner table with world leaders.
Join us in demanding that the Government of Chad immediately rescind Bashir’s invitation or arrest him.
As a member of the International Criminal Court, Chad has a legal and moral obligation to arrest Bashir. Chad has failed to live up to its obligations under the International Criminal Court to arrest Bashir. The government has the dubious distinction of being the International Criminal Court member that has welcomed Bashir more than any other since that time and the only one to do so twice within the span of just over a month. Chad cannot allow Bashir to continue to travel with impunity.
Yesterday, I was joined by leaders from Amnesty International, Enough Project, International Justice Project and Physicians for Human Rights taking this message directly to Chad’s Ambassador to the United States, Maitine Djoumbe. ================================================ Called an international organization, based in New York, the Chadian government, to arrest Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and prevent entering N'djamena tomorrow to participate in a regional conference, as wanted by the International Criminal Court, based in (the Hague) in the Netherlands for crimes of genocide and war crimes against humanity, at the time recognized the Sudanese armed forces as engaged in battles with rebels in southern Darfur, and it Qaibdthm losses in lives and equipment, they also lost a number of soldiers, without giving figures.
