Government of Sudan, 23 years of violations: Reading on the file of human rights situation in Sudan, 1989-2012
IntroductionSudan has witnessed during the past twenty three years, continuous deterioration in human rights situation as by-product of the coup d'état (known in Sudan as Ingaz) against the democratic system that existed in 1989, where a kind of security cordon is imposed around the human rights activists and politicians, freeze and restrict the activities of civil and political rights, and in more than two decades “Ingaz” government through its security apparatus that include but not limited to; National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS), army, police, etc. committed documented crimes and violations that varied between arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, extrajudicial killings, torture, etc. Local, regional and international condemnation on continued deterioration of human rights situation in Sudan has escalated during the past 23 years, and never stopped calling for improved human rights conditions, and the ICC court issued an arrest warrant for the Sudanese head of state, President Omar al-Bashir on counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Why June 30It is the coup d'état 23rd anniversary, the day the civil and constitutional rights have been taken away, political parties and trade union organizations were banned in Sudan.
