DPDO is a non-profit NGO based in Washington, DC with offices in Khartoum and El Fasher. The organization operates relief and development programs in Darfur including a Schools Program, two Women’s Centers and a Solar Cooker Training Program.
CURRENT OPEN POSITION: Program Manager, Women’s Centers
Self- motivated, proactive individual with experience in program management to guide the operations and development the organization’s two Women’s Centers in Kassab Camp and Abu Shouk Camp, North Darfur.
TERMS: Full Time
SALARY: 2000 SDG per month -- negotiable depending on experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Coordinate the production of hand-woven products at both Centers;
2. Coordinate training programs including first aid, literacy, health education and others that may be initiated;
3. Ensure maintenance of both facilities and monitor purchasing of supplies;
4. Oversee payment of salaries, trainer fees and operations allowances;
5. Provide written monthly reports on all activities at the Centers including expense reports.
6. Assess progress on a quarterly basis and provide recommendations for changes or additional program elements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least three years experience working in Sudan with women’s programs, especially income generation and training;
Fluent in Arabic and English;
Self-motivated and proactive with well-developed communication skills;
Computer literate and familiar with Word, Excel and email;
Able to travel several days each month to Kutum/Kassab.
