It must be made crystal clear that the American people are a supportive friend of the Sudanese people, since as back as the days of ex-secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, who brought together all the Sudanese opposition groups in one place, in a sincere attempt to unify them to overthrow the anti-people fascist tyranny still ruling the country. Unfortunately, the Sudanese opposition failed to unite against their common enemy. The regime took advantage of the deep differences prevailing within the opposition factions and drove wedges between its components, using money and positions to lure the bribable elements. Sadly enough, that worked to a considerable extent, which proves that the regime and the opposition, with minor variations, are two faces of the same coin. Today, and after fragmenting the opposition factions into shattered segments suspicious of one another, the regime is depicting the US sanctions as being the fundamental cause of all the problems in Sudan, in a malicious attempt to play victim and blame it all on the United States of America. Whereas, the initial causes are bad-governance and corruption. By contrast, the shaky regime is still lying to the people by saying: once the sanctions are lifted, the rebound will be very strong and quick. But, that, Usual as always, is a hoax ,shameless and a despicable lie, because our suffering and unrest began when this fascist regime seized power through its ominous coup d’état in june1989 and continued ever since ,even during the short-lived huge oil revenues in billions of us-dollars , which the present rulers siphoned and deposited in private bank accounts in off shore entities. The calamity is that maintaining, easing or even the lifting, altogether, of the sanctions will have little impact, if any, on the vulnerable and marginalized masses of Sudan, and would only benefit the ruling junta and its loyalists who, exclusively, monopolize trade and business in the entire country, after having had elbowed out all other competitors, with the support and encouragement of the regime (confiscations and heavy taxes imposed on competitors are common؟). So, let us not be distracted by the irrelevant issue of sanction which the regime is using as escape mechanism. Our focus should center on resisting our enemies (the criminal ruling groups) and those who support them ,like the state of Qatar, which is doing everything it can to help prolong the life of the dying tyranny , against the will of our helpless people .besides ,we must be sufficiently aware of the mounting arms clutter in western Sudan ,which the regime is behind , and which could potentially threaten to fragment our country on regional and tribal basis. In fact, it should be acknowledged that this regime does not have the slightest intention of undertaking any reforms or changes, as we have seen so recently, when it turned its back on the meager outcomes of its own self-initiated internal dialogue. Such being the situation, is there any point wasting time and effort negotiating with such a regime, after 27 -years of zero-impact negotiations with this very cabal؟
