is the answer as this article said?............
SPLM call to extend parliament session …An attempt to distract public attention away from Gaza crisis
31-12-2008 The SPLM, which suffers from its policy of adopting attitudes of foreign powers, had no choice but to make another battle at the Sudanese Parliament in order to distract public attention away from its rejection to agree on the step of Sudanese National Assembly to denounce the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
The SPLM bloc at the Parliament is endeavoring to boycott the Parliament sessions. The head of the SPLM parliamentary group, Yassir Arman, who showed no concern to the incidents in Gaza, was focusing only on extension of the current Parliamentary session so that his movement is capable to speak about amendment of the laws.
Despite the huge efforts by Arman to hide this truth, it was obvious that he was embarrassed by the SPLM stance toward the brutal Israeli crime in Gaza.
Of course, the reasons of this shameful stance are very clear. The SPLM has strong ties with the US, and it could be said that the SPLM policy begins and ends with Washington. The proposed visit by the SPLM leader Salva Kiir to Washington to thank the Bush Administration for its previous support to the SPLM is a clear evidence for the US-SPLM relationship.
It is well-known that Washington has common interests with the Israeli entity, so the US administration did not issue positive statement toward the mass genocide being committed in Gaza by the Israeli forces.
Thus, the SPLM, which is considered as a US ally, could not criticize the brutal barbaric Israeli practice against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The SPLM tried to distract the public attention away from the issue of Gaza by raising the issue of extension of the current Parliamentary session.
