Saudi Arabia: A lonely Tweeter....

    Saudi Arabia: A lonely Tweeter…

Nowadays, Saudi Arabia is wading into deep waters without a life jacket. All its political strategies are turned up-side-down after the shift in the American policy towards its long-time nemesis: I.R. Iran. Even, seeking full support from the very close Gulf Countries Council had come short, with clear disappointing results! Only Bahrain had agreed to severe full ties with Iran. Others were satisfied with calling their ambassadors back with keeping the Iranian ambassador safe at bay. While the worst response of them all is the Omani silent approach which was satisfied with denouncing the Iranian act in some mild words. The only full support came from those whom I call as the needy coalition: Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, and Comoros Islands.

However, I do believe the symptoms which had struck the Saudis are going to spread through the other Gulf countries are self-inflicted! A silent, well-crafted, and deliberate immigration trend from Iran to the Gulf countries had been going without being checked, through the span of the last century. The outcome of such trend is clearly manifest in the recent demographic structure of almost all of the Gulf countries with noticeable majorities in countries like Oman, Kuwait, UAE, and Bahrain! It is only a matter of time; these sleeping Shite cells will declare publicly its demands for a piece of the cake in the rule of these countries with an over-whelming western support. They had been working silently towards nurturing their goal within the fragile Sunni components of these countries. The ruling families had been more involved in caring for their personal ambitions and were not paying attention to this threatening earthquake. The blind support of the Saudis ruling family to the American policies through the last seven decades, gave them fake assurances that they would not been left alone in the future. They had never thought of an alternative political strategy of their own in case they were abandoned by the Americans. Even when the late President Reagan called King Fahad for a visit to the white house in 1985 whom were told bluntly that America does need friends anymore from Arab countries and it needs only: agents. It could have been the waking call for the Saudis for at least to create back-up strategy!

The Saudi regime had never created a genuine development scheme in Yemen since its independence. On the contrary, it bankrolled the regime of Ali Salih to fully arm his own controlled army which laid havoc on the Yemeni people during their own popular rising. The Saudis had never supported developments in any country of the Needy Coalition which had come to its rescue nowadays. The Saudi money could have created a solid arms industrial base in countries like Sudan which could have come to its backing with a real power. It is the irony that the military arms industry in Sudan was created and financed by the Iranians!!! When I visited Iran ten years ago, the industrial quest was just started and the country was manufacturing like five types of cars at the time. Even the poor country of Sudan had initiated the manufacture of his own cars. The Saudis with their abundant money had never started in the manufacture of a single type of car, though they have the means to do so. Of-course, all of the money had gone to the land of no return, to be invested in the United States of America. It is about time for the Saudi regime to acknowledge their short comings and try to work harder to stitch the big holes in their ibayas. It is the time to swallow part of their pride and accept the leadership of Turkey’s Ordogan with the other coalition of the willing among Muslim nations rather than strolling with a weak coalition of the needy. At least, it would restore some of their fading away dignity and respect!

It is Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Americans which had gathered the support to invade Iraq and toppled Saddam. At the spur of the moment, had the regime ever thought of alternatives to the fall of Saddam regime at that time! The happy beneficiary of the mess that followed Iraq invasion is I.R. Iran without losing a single penny in the Desert Storm war. Ethnic cleansing of the Sunni population is alive by all means in Iraq and Syria with the silent blessing of the whole world. The wishes of the Saudis and partners in Syria had never materialized because of the reluctant of the American and the west to topple an Alawi shite regime which had proved to be a security buffer zone to the Israelis. To complicate a peaceful scenario towards the solution of the Syrian conflict, the Israelis had brought the Russians with their heavy armaments to save the falling Alawi regime while the Saudis are impotent to change the status-quot and neither they were able to bring the Americans to their own side.

I do believe that the Saudis had failed completely in their utmost drive to fill the leadership vacuum in the Arab world or the Islamic countries coalition. Therefore, in the short term, the Saudis regime might still capture some of the American and western support but if the woes continue unravel, the Americans would definitely wash their hands of these family businesses in the Gulf and try to create a different ruling class which is ready to shake hands with their new partner: The Persians!!

Re: Saudi Arabia: A lonely Tweeter.... (Re: إبراهيم عبد العزيز عثمان)

Taking into consideration, the horrible assassination attempt on Dr. Al Qarni, a leading Saudi clergy man associated with the ruling family; the Saudi politics reached the bottle-neck squeezed path. It is time or never to adopt a new strategic policy that differentiates between friends and conspirators. Giving generous aid donations to those countries which openly chose stands with the rivals of Islam or the Arab unity, had backfired in many situations. It is time for the Saudi money to come to rescue the Muslim countries that are under pressure to have an economy that would sustain the basic needs of its citizens. The aid should be directly presented in order to help the inhabitants of these countries rather than being used by the regimes to consolidate their power grip. There are so many genius ways to do so. The addition of Yemen to the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), is a move that had come very late but at least it is in the right direction. The Shiite rulers of Iran is definitely behind the plot! While, looking into the logistics of the plot and the reluctant attempt of the Philippines government to uncover the magnitude of the crime, might all point to a wider network connection of many profound intelligence giants in the game. In recent years, the cooperation of the Iranian intelligence with the Israelis, the Russians, and the Americans had been going openly for a quite period of time. The time had come for the Saudis to take some bold attempts or risk popular uprising within the uncomfortable situation in the Kingdom. Some of the ideas, I would personally suggest are:1-Changing the structure of the governing body including abolishing the role of the king into any other form of civilian rule while picking a name that appeals to all Muslims in the world. I would also suggest changing the name of the country. Kingdoms were never a part of any genuine Islamic form of rule during history, neither, it was approved by renowned Muslim scholars . Any other name that points to the Arabian Peninsula or something that would adhere to the Muslim people of the region should be adopted. unfortunately, the status-quot refers to the British domination and their hegemony over the all the Islamic World.2-Paying close attention to the demographic components of the GCC countries and taking immediate steps to rectify the situation before it gets very late ( actually in some GCC countries it is late now!!!). The ongoing approach to forbid immigration to the Sunnis of other poor countries while opening secretly the immigration doors to Shiites and others, should be urgently dealt with. Historically, the tide of the immigration of the Arabian Peninsula people had went towards North Africa and its manifestations are crystal clear to any open-minded individual. So why now people didn't appreciate the role of those countries that received and welcomed their grandfathers long time ago!!3-Adopting a very clear policy to safeguard the Muslim countries and people in a very true coalition of the countries that are openly adopt a very clear Islamic thought of existence. Unfortunately, the component of the Muslim Nations and of the Arab League contain more traitors and enemies of Islam and Arab Unity to the extent that the common citizen of these countries pays no a single shred of hope into such organizations. This submission and collaborations of our rulers was the main basic cause of the emergence of many terrorist organization, whether true or fabricated. It is time to involve the Muslim masses into genuine form of government! At least the Muslim individual should feel he/she has a say in what is going on! The dirty politics of absolute form of governments whether monarchy or military rule should be abandoned! These are the only appetizers for a healthy well-being start while the chance is there for those who would like to adopt a real change....Other than that the worst is yet to come!!

Re: Saudi Arabia: A lonely Tweeter.... (Re: إبراهيم عبد العزيز عثمان)

The recent visit of King Suleiman to Egypt, proved the ultimate truth that the decision-making process in the Kingdom comes from abroad. Egypt refused to participate in the war in Yemen while its top brass generals expressed anti Saudi remarks publicly on their national media venues. In spite all of this hoopla, the Saudi monarch participated in signing seventeen vital economic agreements, with the solid promise to build a bridge over the Red Sea to strengthen the Egyptian Saudi links and to facilitate the movements of the Egyptian workers to the Kingdom. While on the other hand, Sudan is one of the first participants in the Yemeni war, comes with only promises to build some dams over the Nile without a clear mandate to tie the Saudis into bounding themselves into real agreements with our leaders who are more than happy to win some (Kabsa) crumbs from the Saudis. Given the Saudis historic political past, I doubt it very much that they will engage in fulfilling their promises with Sudan.
Moreover, as soon as they sign peaceful agreements with the Hoothis and President Salih's forces, the Saudis are no longer under security pressure and they would come again to play their usual tactics with weaker countries like Sudan, Somalia, and Djibouti. Just throw to their leaders some few financial rewards without bonding themselves into financing real public projects that would support the economic bases of these countries.
Sudan fights and Sudanese die, while the Egyptians stood away. However, at the end of the play, the Egyptians collect the pay....!!!
