The head of Arabic League monitoring mission, Alaa al-Zuhairi, told reporters on Sunday that his mission has deployed 40 observers that travelled to all Sudanese states, pointing out that they have paid visit to 1,000 polling stations and monitored the tallying in 31 stations."
Al-Zuhairi added that there was weak turnout from the young people but that was good rise in the turnout of elderly and special needs voters
Unofficial preliminary results showed that president Omer al-Bahir has won sweeping victory in the various states.
According to reports tallies of elections, based on 25 polling stations across the country, indicate a landslide victory for al-Bashir, with some stations recording a 90% win for the incumbent ruler.
Parliamentary candidates from the ruling NCP) also scored much higher than their competitors in Khartoum.
