Traditional miners at risk of communicable diseases

Khartoum-The traditional mining conference revealed yesterday several dangers and negative impacts facing the gold miners working in 200 locations in 47 localities in 14 states. In the meantime, the percentage of the educational drop-outs has increases as children have left schools for gold exploration to help their families. Experts have further affirmed spread of diseases, especially the tuberculosis. The conference has cited to the lack of health control on food and beverages. On his part, the first vice president Bakri Hassan Saleh has called on the ministry of mining to promote services in the mining, stressing the necessity of coordination with the states and center in this regard.
