Trade Ministry announces readiness to resume cross-border trade with South Sudan
|
Khartoum-The Trade Ministry has announced completion of technical arrangements pertinent to resumption of border trade with South Sudan state. The State Minister for the ministry Jihad Hamza has said that the decision of resumption cross-border trade between the two states is up to the presidency. He added that” we are ready in the ministry in terms of the measures, but the decision is a sovereign matter”. He said that the decision is associated with security and strategic dimensions, affirming completion of the arrangements relevant to trade such as the standards and Metrology Corporation and the custom police. In the same context, the minister denied responsibility for entry of corrupt commodities into the country, saying that other bodies are responsible for the investigations into the safety of measures of entry of commodities into Sudan. He said that his ministry is responsible for mapping out polices and general regulations for the local and foreign trade.
