Three traders were captured by gunmen in the area of Deribat, East Jebel Marra, on Monday.
“Militiamen captured three vendors on the road between Souni village and Talba, north of Deribat, on Monday evening”, a listener from the area told Radio Dabanga.
“The traders were on their way to Talba with their donkeys to sell their lemons and garlic, when government-backed militiamen intercepted them, and shot at their six donkeys carrying their goods. They were killed instantly. The militiamen then took the vendors, Idris Yousif (55), Mohamed Yahya Adam (45), and Hamed Adam Saleh (35), to the military camp site of Deribat.”
The source added that the people of Souni are very worried about the fate of the traders. They fear that they may be “subjected to torture and liquidation by the government forces and militias stationed in Deribat”.
