Journalist, writer, and editor El Haj Warrag, founder and director ofandnbsp;http://www.hurriyatsudan.com/Hurriyat, an independent news website, feels the ravages caused by the Khartoum regime for the last 26 years have touched all aspects of social, economic, cultural, political, and sporting life.
In an interview with Radio Dabanga, he called on the new generations “not to count on the political parties and leaders but on their own movements, organisations and solidarity with each other as well as on the Sudanese people”.
He added that “whatever the regime has done, the hope for change and human value are still existent in the society”. He said although the parties and organisations have roles to play, the Sudanese people should count on the spontaneous grassroots movement.
Warrag called on the youth” not to pay attention to people, to fight for their right for employment, and fight against poverty, drugs, and the deterioration of services”. This should be done by establishing environmental organisations to raise awareness, and provide treatment.
Also has called upon the Sudanese people to show solidarity and not to wait for parties and leaders, but count on their own grassroots and organisational abilities.
