Sudan’s opposition demands immediate release of its leader and all political prisoners

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s opposition Alliance National Consensus Forces (NCF) condemned the arrest of its leader, Farouk Abu Issa, and the human rights lawyer, Amin Mekki and others, stressing that the arrests and lack of freedoms would not prevent the opposition from continuing its struggle, pointing out that the move would push it to develop its means in the political work to achieve the regime change, considering that the arrest is a clear proof that the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) is not serious about the national dialogue. In a press conference in Khartoum on Sunday, the NCF spokesman, Mohamed Dia Eddin, demanded immediate release of Abu Issa, and all political prisoners, stressing that differences among the opposition parties will stop them to stand against the government, disclosing that the NCF legal committee will take actions against the arrest and freedoms Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) arrested on Saturday the head of opposition alliance National Consensus Forces (NCF), Farouk Abu Issa, and the human rights lawyer, Amin Mekki, following their return from the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. The two opposition figures signed Sudan Call agreement on 3 December with the rebel leaders which aimed at unifying Sudan’s opposition
