Sudan’s national dialogue committee calls Al-Bashir to pardon prisoners

December 21, 2014-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-The co-spokesperson of Sudan’s national dialogue committee, known as 7+7, Fadl al-Sid Shuaib, disclosed on Saturday that the president Omer Al-Bashir will meet his committee at the end of this month to push the dialogue progress forward In statements he delivered to the state-run Sudanese Media Center (SMC), Shuaib said that said that the meeting will discuss how to overcome obstacles facing the national dialogue and solving the pending issues, and noting that the meeting also would make definite time to start the comprehensive national dialogue He emphasized that the mechanism would ask the President to pardon political prisoners on the occasion of on the occasion of the Independence Day celebrations in order to create climate conducive for national dialogue, disclosing that his committee are exerting intensive efforts on creating environment conducive for dialogue to contact rebel groups which refused to engage in the dialogue and urge them to join the process. He pointed out that the committee would discuss also several issues including reports of the subcommittees, selection of the national figures and the general secretariat of the national dialogue, general elections and the amendment of the constitution.
