Khartoum-Sudan's President, Omar al-Bashir, vowed on Tuesday to allow South Sudan’s oil carried by northern pipelines after his meeting with South Sudan’s president, Salva Kiir. Sudanese president said that his country will abide by all the cooperation agreements signed with Juba’s government. "The agreements we signed call for the transport of South Sudan's oil through Sudan's facilities and ports," al-Bashir said after the summit in Khartoum. For his part, South Sudan’s president said Sudan and South Sudan had to close the old chapters and open a new page, pointing out that two countries cannot always remain on a war footing He called for the reopening of their border for trade, a move agreed in September but not yet implemented by Sudan because of South Sudan's alleged support for rebels
