Senior Member: Popular Congress Party will boycott 2015 elections
|
Khartoum-A senior member in the opposition Popular Congress Party said on Monday that his party will boycott the elections, scheduled to be conducted next April, saying that the absence of democracy will not allow the conduct of fair elections a matter that will recue the credibility of the electoral process.
The Political Secretary of the Popular Congress Party Kamal Omer told Reuters by Phone that they will boycott the elections because there is no favorable atmosphere for elections referring to the outbreak of wars in the country and lack of freedoms.
Opposition parties in Sudan accuse President Al-Bashir of maneuvering to cling to power despite his promise to step down by 2015.
