SPLM office in the US issues statement on current talks in Addis Ababa
SPLM office in the US-The SPLM political bureau in the US has praised the SPLM soldiers in Nuba Mountain, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile and their brothers in all fronts in Sudan. In a statement issued on the current talks in Addis Ababa, the political bureau launched the steadfastness and heroism to repulse the aggression by the Sudanese regime on the innocent citizens.
The statement has also praised the SPLM people, especially those who live in the liberated areas and the displaced camps for their steadfastness before the bomb barrels and aerial bombardment made by the government air forces on daily basis.
The statement said that the SPLM has called, during the talks of Addis Ababa, for establishment of three committees for the security, political and humanitarian arrangements, and urged for immediate cease fire to facilitate the delivery of the humanitarian assistances. The statement referred to the SPLM request to hold a constitutional conference under the auspices of the African Union and international monitors with the participation of the entire political powers and civil society organizations to discuss the issue of government in Sudan.
The SPLM has requested removal of the laws that restrict freedoms and handling the issues of the two areas in order to guarantee real share of power and wealth. The statement said.
The statement added that the SPLM has called for formulation of a transitional government with the participation of the parties to the constitutional process to be followed by free and fair elections in two years.
